我校学子在2018“外研社杯”全国英语阅读大赛湖南赛区复赛中荣获佳绩
Students from Hunan Vocational Institute of Technology Won Two Third-Prize Awards in Hunan Provincial Final of 2018 “FLTRP Cup” English Reading Contest
2018年11月3日,“外研社杯”全国英语阅读大赛湖南赛区复赛在中南林业科技大学隆重举行。经任课教师推荐、大学英语竞赛指导培训组认真选拔,我校派出了张巧涵(光电1163班)、肖瑶(会计1176班)两名同学参加比赛。最终,与来自全省71所本、专科高校选派的近200位同学的激烈角逐中,不畏强手,稳定发挥,获得了2个三等奖的优异成绩。
On November 3, 2018, Hunan Provincial Final of 2018 “FLTRP Cup” English Reading Contest was held in Central South University of Forestry and Technology. Through the teachers’ recommendation and the instructor group’s selection, two students from our school, Zhang Qiaohan and Xiao Yao, participated in the contest. Eventually, both of them won the Third-Prize award in the fierce competition with nearly 200 students selected from 71colleges and universities in the province.
“外研社杯”全国英语阅读大赛是外语教学与研究出版社联合教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会、教育部高等学校英语专业教学指导分委员会和北京外国语大学中国外语测评中心共同举办的高水平赛事,与“外研社杯”全国英语写作大赛和“外研社杯”全国英语演讲比赛共同构成外研社大学生英语挑战赛(UChallenge)。
“FLTRP Cup” English Reading Contest is a high-level competition jointly organized by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (commonly abbreviated as FLTRP), College Foreign Language Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education, ELA Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education and the China Language Assessment. “FLTRP Cup” English Reading Contest, “FLTRP Cup” English Public Speaking Contest, and “FLTRP Cup” English Writing Contest constitute the UChallenge.
公共课部将以英语竞赛为契机,进一步提高学生的英语运用能力,加快大学英语课程与教学改革,寻求破解高职院校尤其是理工科高职院校英语水平普遍偏低,学生英语水平难以满足和适应当今社会、岗位需求的难题,为学校“打造产教融合样板和发展改革精品”、“四个一流”目标贡献一份力量。
The Public Course Department will take the contest as an opportunity to further improve students’ English applying ability and speed up the reformation of curriculum and teaching in English. And we try to seek the solution to the general problem that the English level of vocational college students, especially the vocational colleges of science and engineering, is generally on the low side, which is difficult to meet and adapt to the requirements of today's international society and posts. Therefore, we will do our best to contribute to the targets of our school, namely “the Four First-class” (the first-class faculty, the first-class application-oriented graduates, the first-class education environment and the first-class internal governance mechanisms) and “the Model of Industry-education integration and the Sample of Development and Reform in Hunan”.
